Text Box: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
~ Hebrews 12:1-3 ~

Text Box: Crash Youth Sponsor information and bios...

Randy and Laurie Tempest have been serving God in the Youth Ministry for over 11 years. They have a passion for people in general but more specifically they have a heart for the youth of today. They lead the youth at Harvest in example and seek to teach them God’s truth. They are true soldiers of the cross and seek to mold our teens into soldiers for Jesus.

The base of their work and ministry is investing time into the lives of others. The simplicity of investing your life into those around you was modeled by Jesus and had eternal implications on all Jesus was around. It is this simple philosophy of ministry that makes Randy and Laurie’s Ministry so powerful and effective. They are investors. They invest their lives in the youth sponsors and the youth and call them to do the same. Their ministry is an open book and they invite your ideas and questions.

The incredible team of Youth Sponsors that give unselfishly of their time are the ones helping to make an IMPACT on the youth at Harvest. The team has a weekly study and worship time for the teens on Sunday evenings. Much time is spent as well on various trips and events planned out for the youth. These sponsors are here to love and serve your kids as they love and serve Jesus.

In no way can you get a complete picture of their hearts by a few words but we hope hearing a bit of their hearts will help you understand and see their passion for ministering to teens. Please read through their comments on why they serve in this ministry and feel free to contact any of them.

Sincerely,
The Leadership of Harvest Christian Fellowship

I love Jesus so much and without Him, I have no hope.  Fortunately, He is alive and has saved me from my sin.  I am passionate to see our youth of today learn about God and his son Jesus.  I desire to invest my time and life into kids so they can become soldiers for Christ.  I know that the seeds planted today will produce a great harvest tomorrow.  It is a blessing to be able to serve our youth and I am excited to see what God has in store. The team of Youth Sponsors at Harvest is sold out to Jesus.  Working with these wonderful Christians has challenged me in so many areas.  It is an honor to serve with each of them every week.  I am thankful that God has blessed our team with great diversity and hearts that love God.  We desire to serve Him and your youth.

I chose to be a youth sponsor because I have a loving God that made me, loves me and saved me and I want our kids to know God does the same for them. The high school and middle school years were a rough time for me and I want to be a positive influence, a source of love and a woman of God that is there for the kids regularly. This world has a way of helping us lose focus and for me, being a sponsor is a way that I can invest into our students’ lives and let them see the bigger picture. Life will not always be this high school or middle school life they are in. These are only part of a great journey we each can have with God. He is the only thing that will fill the needs of our hearts. He is my everything and I desire for our students to see that He is all they need as well.

Why am I a youth sponsor? Because I believe God called me to be one! God has given me a passion for youth today and the issues they are facing. I did not have a youth group or sponsors when I was in junior and senior high school to be another influence in my life and possibly have made those years easier. I love being part of the kids’ lives and am excited to see them develop into the people God has planned for them to become.

Why am I a Youth Sponsor?  My goal is simple:  I want to help kids become the person God wants them to be; to help them stay strong in their faith so that they can fend off worldly temptations, while being true to themselves and more importantly, true to God.

I choose to serve as a youth sponsor, because much of my walk with Christ was formed from my youth group and the sponsors involved.  I want to be a part of our youth kids’ lives the way the sponsors were in mine.  It’s exciting to see these kids grow in their faith and watch their passion grow daily.
