Bulletin Announcements: 11-16-08 Sunday Classes Extended: Due to a large number of requests, we will be extending our Sunday evening classes. Plan to join us November 16, November 23, and December 7 from 5-6 pm for our “Growing God’s Way” series. ü The first class will be on the book The Shack by William Young. This book will probably become one of the Christian classics of our era. We will go over some of its great themes and dialogues and once you get into the story you will not want to put it down. It will help you grow in your faith and you will draw nearer to God. ü The second class is entitled “Booze, Babes, and Brats” and is for both men and women. It will deal with temptations we all have as well as look at biblical answers to some of the hot issues that we face in our culture. We will explore what the Bible says about drinking, sexual temptations, and eating. Join us. Crash meets tonight from 6 – 7:30 pm at Harvest. Connect meets for our Service Project at 4 pm then we will have youth group starting at 6 pm. Texas Roadhouse Night: Tomorrow, November 17 from 4-10:30 pm is Harvest night at Texas Roadhouse. Just say you are with Harvest and 10% of your receipt will go towards our Liberia mission trip. Good food for a good cause. Corn Hole Tournaments: Saturday, December 6, 2008 we will have two Corn Hole tournaments in the Harvest gym. The first double elimination tournament begins at 11 am (doors open at 10 am) and is $50 per team ($60 at the door). The second double elimination tournament begins at 5 pm and is $50 per team ($60 at the door). Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place teams and all proceeds from the day go towards our Liberia Mission trip. For more information or to register contact Sam at 744-9573 or Dave at 730-0638. Invite your friends for one or both tournaments and enjoy a day of Corn Hole fun! Scrip Fundraiser: We are starting the Scrip program at Harvest. This is a way to raise money for Liberia just by shopping at stores you normally shop at anyway. By buying Scrip cards (used like gift cards) a percentage of the proceeds goes to our Liberia Mission trip. For more information contact Travis or Jami Coomer at 281-8834. Imitators: The Imitators are doing a service project on November 23 from 12-3 pm. We will be going to Whiteley neighborhood to deliver hats and gloves to kids that need them this winter. If your child is in 4th or 5th grade and would like to join us they need to bring a sack lunch to church that day (put it in the Zone refrigerator), bring a friend if possible, and dress for the weather. Basketball: Anyone interested is invited to play basketball in the Harvest gym Sunday nights at 8 pm. Contact Tom Hahn at 717-9570 with questions.
Prayer Meeting Notes: 11-12-08
We spent time sharing our discouragements and reminded ourselves that God is more powerful than our problems! We need to seek out that truth. It will make our prayers more powerful to know that God is bigger than any discouragement we will ever have! He is bigger than: * injury * finances * family issues * health * sickness * work * doubt * drugs/alcohol
Prayers and praises: ü Praise that Gina’s father’s surgery went well. Prayers for continued healing ü Praise to have Shane join us in Prayer Meeting ü Laurie’s grandmother will move to Westminster this weekend ü We need to raise $20,000 for Liberia by December ü Amy’s sister is going through some rough family problems ü Dave’s brother, Dan is a preacher but is leaving his current church soon. Prayers for direction as he finds a new church ü Heather’s grandpa is moving to a new facility. Praise that this move is happening sooner than expected. Prayer for her grandma because they will be separated. ü For our family members who don’t know Jesus ü Sanford and Shirley will be coming back from their trip to the Holy Land ü For Mark ü Kathy’s mom has a pinched sciatic nerve ü Rick is getting much better and is recovering from pneumonia ü Daxton is over 10lbs! Continued prayers for his health ü For those sending out letters asking for support for Liberia
We believe our God can do anything! What we want for our church: ü Harvest could branch out to all of Muncie and they could feel God and the love here ü We would reach our Journey amount ü We will fulfill our individual Journey commitments ü For God to restore the hurting relationships in our church ü That we will have genuine and childlike faith ü The we will grow deeper to God; to our bible studies ü The we will open our eyes to opportunities and we will go for them boldly ü For transparency in our body. That people can see we are broken and need fixed and it would impact them |
